Toni’s Story

Toni Kohn Woodward
June 15, 1988 – September 7, 2014
Toni passed away unexpectedly in September of 2014. At the time of her passing, Toni and Stephen were living in Los Angeles, she was pregnant with their first child, and they were living the life they had always dreamed of. A graduate of the University of Southern California, Toni continued on to study her true passion, jewelry design, at The Fashion Institute of Design And Merchandising. Toni was confident, passionate and incredibly talented. She had successfully launched her own jewelry line, Toni Kohn Jewelry, and had just produced her first line of fine jewelry.

Always finding ways to give back to her community, Toni became involved with Urban Fitness 911, a total wellness program that offers fitness, nutrition, life coaching and tutoring to low income children. Toni had taken on a mentor relationship with a young woman involved in this group, named Ronne. Toni’s emotional support, attention and love for Ronne, is an example of how one’s commitment can make the difference for a young woman struggling to find her way. Urban Fitness 911, is in the process of opening its first live-in housing program in late 2015, a 2 year education and
employment program for young girls transitioning into adulthood, struggling to overcome their circumstances. They are honoring Toni’s dedication by naming it “The Toni Kohn House”.
